Phone Guy is the deuteragonist of Five Nights at Freddy's and the previous security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He's considered a forced ally, due to his odd nonchalant attitude. He returns as an antagonist and selectable character in Ultimate Custom Night.

Even though he appears in the first game, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and Five Nights at Freddy's 3, he is considered to be an original, first game character, in UCN, alongside Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy.

Menu Description[]

When he calls, quickly mute him, otherwise it will create a lengthy audio disturbance. The mute button will appear in different places each time.

Behavior[]

Phone Guy will call randomly at the office. The player has a limited time to click the mute button before it is too late, and the phone call starts. Once it starts, it isn't possible to stop it, and the player will have to listen to the whole thing.

This aggravates noise-sensitive animatronics and is especially annoying for the player. Adding up to the difficulty, the mute button is always at a different, unpredictable spot on the screen for each time Phone Guy calls.

Death Quotes[]

Phone Guy possesses no death quotes as he is merely a distraction, and cannot kill the player.

Trivia[]

  • Phone Guy, Trash and the Gang, Helpy and Old Man Consequences are the only non-animatronic characters of the game.
    • Phone Guy is the only human character on the game, not counting the player.
      • Afton isn't counted as a human, since he is in his animatronic form.
  • All Phone Guy's calls are actually recycled from first three installments of the series.
    • While the player does have to listen to the calls until they end, they're not the complete versions, and cut short before their actual end from the other games.
  • On April 1st, Scott Cawthon supposedly added Phone Guy's mechanic (along with Foxy and Nightmare Freddy). However, the mechanic turned out to be an April Fool's joke, referencing the common theory of Phone Guy originally being Springtrap (the purple guy)'s identity.
    • The mechanic reads: He will call into your office at random, creating a lot of noise and momentarily increasing the aggressiveness of the animatronics. He cannot call, however, if Springtrap is in the vents, because he can’t be in two places at the same time.
